The Japanese program ACMAS is a global concept for the development of children's brain work that depends upon the Abacus(Soroban), which is adopted in Japan and is proven to be effective in brain activation of right brain and left brain. The abacus has been used all over the world since nearly two thousand year ago.
A soroban is composed of an odd number of columns or rods, each having beads: one bead having a value of five, and four beads each having a value of one. Each set of beads of each rod is divided by a bar known as a reckoning bar. The number and size of beads in each rod make a standard-sized 13-rod soroban much less bulky than a standard-sized suanpan of similar expressive power.
The amount of knowledge and skills our kids acquired from the program are marvelous, and the smile we have seen on our kids faces carrying their trophies at the end of the program is beyond expression.
